Where it goes
Read this before you rely on it
- Income tax rates and study loan thresholds are the 2026–27 figures published by the ATO (checked 16 October 2026).
- The Medicare levy low-income threshold shown is the 2025–26 one, the latest the ATO has published. The 2026–27 figure will be slightly higher, so very low earners may pay a little less than shown.
- Study loan repayments are worked out on repayment income, which includes salary sacrifice and some other amounts, and from $186,051 the rate is 10% of the whole amount, not just the part above a threshold.
- This calculator ignores tax offsets, deductions, salary packaging beyond what you enter, and anything specific to your circumstances.
- It is a guide, not tax advice. The ATO answers questions for free.
